ARC takeoff: a walk-through
Here is an early look at ARC in motion. About a minute and a half, start to finish, following one storm sewer job through a workspace the way an estimator would: the jobs on the board, the 21 structures ARC read off the plan set, the review queue, and a submittal package that ends the clip ready for the engineer to stamp.
ARC reads a civil plan set the way an estimator does and fills the structure register straight from the drawings: type, sheet, rim, invert, depth, pipe size. Each value stays linked to the plan callout it came from.
Anything ARC cannot prove becomes a review card with the confidence, the reason it was routed, and the source sheet beside it. A person decides. The derived numbers come from deterministic code, and the calc trace on every structure shows the arithmetic.
The same job carries its structures, its review queue, and its submittal package behind four release gates. When every gate passes, the package says so in plain words: ready for the engineer of record to review and stamp.
This is the idea ARC keeps coming back to: the reading is the slow part of precast estimating, so the reading is the part worth handing to a machine. The judgment stays with your team.
